2. Mentor
Name: Joanne L. Carr
Contact Number: (562) 833- 0640
3. Some questions that were raised because of the 10 hours of experience were the following:
-What are the chances I will be able to talk to other social workers as well as working with Joanne?
-How often will I have to meet with my mentor?
-Is there any chances or conditions where I will be able to observe patients?
4.The most important thing I've gained from this experience is understanding the commitment it takes to be a social worker and certain skills that someone should have and that people have to learn to cope with what they see and learn to do this over time. These things are important because not everyone knows how to deal with certain situations due to how awkward it can be or uncomfortable and emotional it makes them and that skill is very important to learn.
5. My senior project is going to be on social work but more specifically, home- health counseling. I tries to get in contact with several mentors but working with Joanne has opened a lot of doors for me and gives me connections that I didn't have before and I think an experience that I can really benefit from and learn new people skills with the work she has done and skills that she has to offer me.
